The HP Global Business Challenge

Welcome to the Hewlett-Packard Global Business Challenge. The HPGBC is an exciting, interactive contest of economic analysis and management skill between young people from around the world. The 1998 contest included students from 40 countries.

The HPGBC is jointly sponsored by Hewlett-Packard Corporation and Junior Achievement International. It is based on the Junior Achievement Management and Economic Simulation Exercise, a computerized business simulation developed by Harvard Associates, Inc. The HPGBC is conducted via the Internet and is administered by Harvard Associates, Inc.

In the first round of the contest, participants are organized into groups or industries of up to eight teams. Teams in each group compete among themselves over the course of eight weeks to determine a winner. The winning teams advance to the second round where they again are organized in groups of eight teams for a second competition. The eight winning teams in the third round will travel to Brussels as Hewlett-Packard's guests for a face-to-face competition in September to determine the worldwide champion.

Any questions can be sent by email to the contest administrators at hpgbc@harvassoc.com.
